Baby Mama : A Child Goes Missing

Joe bounded off the school bus yesterday and announced to me and his uncle "a girl ranned away from school" we tried to illicit more information but he is 5 and his attention quickly wanes. I figured that Joe just didn't see someone at school that he had saw the day before, boy was I wrong!

The principal of the school called later that evening and turns out that a little girl did in fact walk out of the school. Apparently the child who was all of 5 was sent off to the bathroom alone and did not come back. After TWO hours they found her. The rest of the story was a bit sketchy, the principal simply stated that the child was now home with her parents.

The teacher was suspended pending the investigation and ultimately the phone call was made to every child's parent that is in Joe's room to provide some reassurance. What a nightmare!

Of course this gets my wheels turning and my mind turns to safety AGAIN! The majority of childhood accidents occur in the home. Baby child safety in the home can save you tons of heart ache. I do not mean to preach, but stuff as simple as baby safety gates can keep your child away from areas they should not be in.baby safety at home should become a habit. The best baby safety products should grow with your child.

I still keep some cabinets latched with child safety cabinet latches because I do not want my grand children in the cabinets that cleaners are kept it. We have child safety door latches on the front back and side door! Safety for baby and your young children should be a big priority.

I think that children that are raised in an environment where there are limits, limits like not being able to get in certain restricted areas help them to adjust to the idea of not simply wandering off when you want to. Baby safety at home will promote cautious behavior away from home!
